Air conditioning is a must in the hot Texas summer months. No one wants to have issues with their air conditioning system, and we hope you never do. Here are four tips to help keep your air conditioning working properly and efficiently:
1. Thermostat – Keeping your thermostat between 72 and 78 degrees is recommended. Every degree below 78 degrees increases your energy usage by 8%.
2. Conserve Heat – There are things you can do throughout your day to help conserve heat. Keeping blinds or curtains closed in windows that allow direct sunlight into your home will help to keep your house from heating up more than it needs to. Also, try to only do activities that produce heat like laundry and baking after the sun goes down.
3. Dehumidifier – If you need to run a dehumidifier, we recommend doing it when your air conditioner is not running. Running both a dehumidifier and air conditioner at the same time will cause your AC unit to run more, which costs you money.
4. Clean & Inspect – It is important to regularly inspect and clean your AC units. Be sure to clean the inside and outside units to ensure proper operations.
We hope that these five tips will help you keep your air conditioning running properly this summer. If you find yourself with any issues with your AC, then please give us a call at Dalorem Heating & A/C.
